Kerastraight's first ever business seminar - here's what we learnt KeraStraight held their first business seminar on March 5 in East London. Entitled Let’s Talk Business, the event saw a packed crowd of salon owners and hairdressers listen to an industry expert panel discussion and a talk from business maestro Alan Austin-Smith. The event started with a look at the brands new Canvas collection. The images showed the brand as a lifestyle – displaying the movement and styles you can create with KeraStraight. The key message? KeraStraight creates a blank canvas for hairdressers to work on. Founder Jez Barnet then revealed a sneak preview of the new ultimate treatment and booster launching May 1. Following Jez's introduction, a panel discussion was next on the agenda. Hosted by Dom Lehane – founder of HairClubLive and host of podcast How to Cut It, they discussed industry hot topics and took questions from the audience. The panel was made up of Jez Barnett founder of KeraStraight, Jeff Letter distributor and business development specialist, Katie Braden PR for KeraStraight and Not Another Salon, international technical director of Trevor Sorbie Nathan Walker and Afro-Caribbean hair specialist Brenda Charlemagne. To conclude the day, business maestro Alan Austin-Smith, shared his knowledge and experience to help salons maximise the potential in this extra revenue category. The audience learnt how others overcame price objections from clients and what promotional ideas proved most successful.
