Hj launches #salonsaresafe campaign ahead of reopening The Professional Beauty Group, which includes Hairdressers Journal International and Professional Beauty has launched a positive campaign to remind clients ahead of hair salons reopening that hair salons are safe with the hashtag #SalonsAreSafe. The campaign aims to spread a positive message across social media and reassure clients that they will be in safe, clean and hygienic hands when hair salons reopen their doors on Saturday 4 July in England. Please note, each part of the UK has a different reopening date so please click here for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland's official reopening dates.  The campaign will also give hair salons that offer beauty and nail treatments as well as standalone beauty salons the chance to show clients, the wider industry and UK Government that beauty therapists are also safe and ready to reopen. This is incredibly important because beauty businesses are not allowed to do so yet and have not received a definitive reopening date. The Professional Beauty Group is making this united call on Friday 3 July that all #SalonsAreSafe. We will need your help for clients, the UK Government and wider industry to take notice. Any contribution you can give on the day will be vital to promote this message. Here are just some of the ways you can get involved:

Show us how your hair salon is safe ahead of reopening as part of the #SalonsAreSafe campaign

Post photos and videos on social media using the #SalonsAreSafe hashtag to show your hair salon, nail bar, beauty business or beauty room within your hair salon is safe and ready to reopen. These photos and videos can be walkthroughs of your salon showcasing the changes you’ve made in terms of PPE and social distancing – the more visual or creative you can be the better. We’d also recommend tagging your local MP, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and/or the business secretary Alok Sharma to help get the message direct to the UK Government.

Share HJ's #SalonsAreSafe graphic across your social media

Share HJ's #SalonsAreSafe image on your social media channels while using the #SalonsAreSafe hashtag, explaining how you’ve made your salon safe for reopening. Also, ask your clients to share the message on the day to show their support for you and your business. For beauty salons and hair salons with beauty rooms that would like a definitive reopening date for beauty businesses, we’d also recommend tagging your local MP, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and/or the business secretary Alok Sharma to help get the message direct to the UK Government. The government has released its official guidance for hair salons reopening.
