Here’s what happened at the first virtual alternative hair show In its 38th year, the first virtual Alternative Hair Show aired across social media on Sunday 11 October, showcasing creativity from some of the biggest names in the hairdressing industry. The international artistic teams created presentations in their own countries with their personal interpretation of this year’s theme, ‘Imagine’. From fields and studios, to salons and historical buildings including the Duomo in Florence, the backdrops themselves were inspiring and the work showed an incredible attention to detail and the vision to create something amazing within the close confines of today’s world. “From the moment we decided to adapt the show digitally we have been overwhelmed by the ready and warming response from sponsors, teams, the world-wide following of hairdressers and friends that brings you to this exciting new event,” said Tony and Maggie Rizzo, founders of Alternative Hair. “If nothing, the Show has always been ready to adapt to new circumstances – it is this that has kept us so vibrant, in touch with and setting new trends in the wonderful world of hairdressing. This evening is no exception as we strive once more to bring you the very best our profession can offer.”
