Have you seen a rise in the male hair extension market?
Hair extensions brands are noticing a demand for thicker and fuller hair is on the rise, as men are going to new lengths to seek more affordable and less invasive alternatives to hair transplants.
Luxury and superior quality hair extension brand Great Lengths, offer natural and discreet men-hancements – a service that helps to cover hair loss allowing men to regain their confidence. This subtle solution disguises balding or thinning patches at the crown or the hairline in just one sitting, ensuring men leave the salon with a fresh, new look and a boost of confidence.
Multi award-winning Great Lengths specialist, Jade Searcy has seen a huge growth in the male hair extension market: “In the past three years, I’ve seen a significant increase in male clients having Great Lengths fitted.” Likewise, Racoon International creative director, Andrew Barton, has also noticed demand for hair extensions within male clients: “At Racoon International, we have seen an increase in general demand for hair extensions by clients across our network of experts across the UK. In particular, we have seen an increase in male clients experimenting with hair extensions either for extended length particularly in fringe areas or to add threads of colour.”
But why are men turning to hair extensions now? “Since the pandemic, we have seen clients looking to experiment with their hair, change their look and transform how they feel about themselves,” says Andrew. “Men’s style is ever evolving and particularly the younger male clients in the salon are looking to express themselves through their hairstyle.”
And Jade agrees: “Since re-opening from lockdown, I think men seem to be more focused on regaining confidence and not worrying about what other people think. My client’s love Great Lengths as they’re so easy to maintain, look so natural and avoid the alternative routes which could be a hair transplant which are invasive and expensive. I now have over five times as many male clients and every month I receive messages requesting consultations. Over the next few years, I think we will see a huge a rise in the male hair extension market.” Did you see the HJ Extensions Competition, sponsored by Great Lengths, at Salon International 2022?
