Aveda Welcomes New Sustainability Ambassador
In a move towards a greener future, Aveda have taken a further step towards their mission to care for the planet.
The brand has appointed Gina Conway as its Trade Sustainability Ambasador for the UK – as she plans to promote their sustainable initiatives and support the Aveda Salon network to implement meaningful practice.
Gina, who is originally from California, owns a multi-award-winning Aveda Lifestyle Salon group in the south and southeast of England, after opening her first Aveda salon in 2001. She will work with the brand’s salon network to strengthen ties and understanding of Aveda’s CSR principles.
Set to lead monthly webinars, salon audits, fundraising guides and the creation of Sustainability Champions, Gina will also immerse Aveda into events such as Earth Month, and Veganuary as Aveda continue their commitment to environmental responsibility.
“I want to work across all aspects of sustainability in our industry, starting from the ways in which we can cut back our carbon footprint and make being a beauty professional a force for good in an industry renowned for high energy and water usage. I am planning lots of talks and collaborations with salon owners to help them achieve a leap forward in their sustainable journey and look forward to sharing more soon,” said Gina.
The brand is known for their natural formulas and responsible sourcing – with 100% of their products being vegan and cruelty free.
Luke Evans, Vice President General Manager UK & Ireland: Aveda says: “We’re delighted to welcome Gina Conway as our new Trade Sustainability Ambassador for Aveda UK, as part of our continued commitment to the pursuit of greater sustainability for our brand. Gina’s passion for environmental responsibility will play a key role in sharing our sustainability mission to the wider industry, while her best practice knowledge and expertise will provide real, tangible actions for the Aveda salon network.”
