New hair colouring assistance app 'livilea' launches

Livilea, a new app designed to remove the guesswork out of colouring, is finding international success amongst hairdressers after a recent launch. Focused around precision, Livilea breaks away from the norm of commercial, brand-dependent apps through a combination of invaluable experience and mathematics. Liva Petersen, the mind behind the app and hairdresser/salon owner for eighteen years, said: "I have noticed, even experienced, colleagues in the industry having difficulties with the colouring process and I could definitely relate to that. Just determining the right starting level and knowing what the correct underlying pigment can be confusing". Assembling a team to focus on the algorithmic nature of the colour patterning, the app was worked on with the goal of removing the unpredictability of the process. Ultimately, this is intended to make colouring easier for hairdressers and more satisfying for customers. "It’s funny to think that hairdressing is one of the last crafts to get digitised through an app and, honestly, I think that we are a little scared of it because we always have thought of theory as something we need to build on with experience.But really, it is all about mathematics." Livilea has been worked on and extensively tested for a year and a half and is available now. Within the first 72 hours in App Store, more than a 1,000 users have downloaded the free app and, shortly after, it was rolled out in Google Play, available to Android users as well. "The many downloads in such a short amount of time is more than I could have wished for. It shows that hairdressers really are interested in a helping hand. Many of them will no doubt be students, but I also see the app as a tool for hairdressers working alone without the privilege of having a colleague to ask for advice.
