Versatile style: zendaya Actress & singer Zendaya has been doing the red carpet rounds this season and has certainly caught our eye with her fab range of show-stopping hairstyles. We caught up with Jonny Morrissey, Senior Stylist at SACO London for his top tips on creating versatile styles. “We always ask our clients if they would like a change. As hairdressers, we get stuck in a rut with our regulars are always doing the same again. It’s good to start slowly, things like adding a fringe will dramatically change a clients look without losing any length which seems to be every girl’s dream- wanting a change but keeping the length! To clients who are just having a colour service, we offer them a different blow-dry or styling service to show the versatility of the hair, such as plaits, ponytails and waves.” Zendaya Image by: David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock The Statement Bob 'Bobs are the cut of the summer. I love the retro styling of this whole look - so disco! It’s likely that this style is a weave or a wig, which more and more celebrities are opting for at the moment rather than braving the chop, the round fringe is great take on this classic style, it opens up the face and softens her features whilst drawing attention to her beautiful eyes.' Zendaya Image by: John Salangsang/BFA/REX/Shutterstock The Slick Pony 'Ponytails were huge at the Met Gala this year, they all looked so sleek and effortless. To create this look, put the hair in a high ponytail right on top of the head. Using a gel and shine spray, create that sleek, wet look around the hairline. Wrap a piece of hair around the hair tie to cover the band, this makes the look that little bit more elegant and gives an extra width and length to a ponytail. You could also add in clip-in extensions for extra thickness.' Zendaya Image by: Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock Retro Waves 'This is a very difficult look to create but it can be done. Apply gel around the front hairline using your fingers or a comb to sculpt the wave on the side. Pin it into place and tie back the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Plait the hair and wrap in a bun to give it texture. When the sides are dry, take out pins and spray hairspray or shine spray to give it a glossy feeling.' Zendaya Image by: Chelsea Lauren/WWD/REX/Shutterstock The New Age Braid 'To create this Dutch braid look, split the hair into a center parting and split the sides in half again. Begin the Dutch braid at the top, taking 3 strands of hair and braid them the opposite way to how you would a normal braid. Pin in at the nape of the neck and you’re done! This look is so popular at the moment with the Kardashian crew always sporting these braids.' See more celebrity hair stories.
