Neville Salons Turns Suki Waterhouse Brunette!
Jack Howard and the Neville Salon team have turned Suki Waterhouse brunette, further cementing the shade as the colour of the season.
It looks set to be bye-bye blondes for Autumn/Winter 2014 as a host of celebrities turn to the dark side, and the catwalks are are crammed with brunette models.
While bleach blonde is having its moment, it’s a stand-out look that’s not for everyone. Welcome back into the spotlight, then, the humble brunette – glossier, more elegant, and more fashion-forward than ever.
As the model of the moment, who better to showcase the benefits of brunette than Suki?
Neville’s super-colourist Jack Howard created her new hue, while colleague Stephen Low styled her finished look – which she shared on Instagram.
“Brunettes are really hot right now,” advises Jack. “Lots of clients have been going darker and there are some amazing brunettes out there; Kim Kardashian looks amazing as a brunette, Alexa Chung can slide between lighter browns and deeper ones – and then there’s Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez, Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie to name a few.”
So how should we be wearing brunette for the new season? “It’s key to keep orange and red tones out of brunette shades,” says Jack. “We don’t see many celebs with orange hues, unless they’re copper. It doesn’t have to be solid brunette either and this is where balayage has really helped evolve brunettes, adding dimension and texture without totally altering the overall feel of the colour.”
