London Museum The V&A invited designer Holly Fulton to present her back catalogue of looks for their Fashion in Motion series of shows.
For the exhibition Holly showed highlights from the last ten years of the label, focusing on six seasons and restyling six key looks from each to trace the evolution of their graphic signature since the label began in 2009.
Jonathan Soons from Headmasters led the hair team for L'Oréal Professionnel. The brand have been working with the V&A for Fashion in Motion since the inception of the shows.
For the hair look at Holly Fulton Jonathan created a ‘post party modern beehive’ style - here's how he achieved the look.
“First you have to change the fabric of the hair to make it weightless and pliable. I used L’Oréal
Professionnel Tecni.ART Scruff Me at the roots and worked it into the mid-lengths. We back-combed from back to front, from lengths to roots.
Then we worked from the front to back in fine sections, ensuring hair was stiff at the roots.
The top section was brought over to one side, and twisted into a knot and secured with pins. The shape was moulded to keep the height and sprayed with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium Extreme Hold hair spray.
The remaining lengths were tonged and worked with a little L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Density Material to look like the hair had melted, and look a little sweaty.”
