Shiny, happy models: the healthiest hair trend from ss20 so far As a model, it's par of the course that your hair will be tonged, sprayed and brushed to oblivion, for a whole month, twice a year for fashion week. Going from show to show hair is comprised as each team try to undo the work from the previous look before starting on their own vision. While grit and texture have been buzz words for the past few seasons, for SS20 naturality, high quality and salon-finish were the words spinning around backstage across the fashion cities so far. This healthy hair trend that's emerging will be a relief for salon stylists as clients will be longing for smooth, lustrous, natural hair once again.

JW Anderson

Hair lead: Anthony Turner for Dyson The vibe: "Parisian, high-quality sexy hair." the hair team kept the models' natural parting and prepped with water and L'Oreal Professionnel Pli before using the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition with concentrator attachment to blow dry the roots flat. This attachment was then swapped with the gentle air attachment to encourage natural texture.

Sharon Wauchob

Hair lead: Neil Moodie for L'Oreal Professionnel The vibe: The hair look was sleek and flat with zero volume and a strong side parting. “It’s contained and uber-shiny," said Neil. "The hair has a hardness to it to contrast the ethereal nature of the clothes." The hair was prepped with Pli and then blow-dried flat to get rid of all of the volume. L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Liss Control was then applied through the hair for gloss, shine and to control any flyaways.

Coach

Hair lead: Guido Palau for Redken The vibe: The hair for this show oozed child-like fullness which Guido created with a concoction of Redken products. "My key products at this show were Redken Extreme Play Safe to heat protect while I was blow-drying and Redken Triple Dry 15 to add texture and volume into the lengths, which I’ve left natural." The look was pulled together with a Coach barrette.

Richard Malone

Hair lead: Richard Phillipart for BaByliss PRO The vibe: Talking backstage Richard Phillipart described the hair look as taking cues from the sustainable and natural elements within the fashion of the show. Hair was kept super smooth and sleek and adorned with netted hoods and plaits that were finished with silver wire. The BaByliss PRO Italia Brava Hairdyer was used to smooth down hair without comprising quality. Lead image Coach SS20 courtesy of Redken
