BET Awards 2015 Best-Tressed Guests

Stars of stage, screen and sport were honoured at the BET Awards 2015 this weekend – here we take a look at the best hair moments from the red carpet.

Take a look at six of our favourite styles below – and hear what HJ’s Afro Hairdresser of the Year, Charlotte Mensah, thinks too!

We say: Brandy’s smile is almost as big as her hair! We love her super-sized style, although we’re not convinced by the polo neck dress with it.

Charlotte says: This blowout natural afro-texture wig complements her dress perfectly.

We say: Brandy’s one-time sparring partner – the boy is hers, right? – rocked it with this vibrant new shade of red.

Charlotte says: I’m loving Monica’s red hair and mushroom haircut. The sideburns are feminine and the layers are HOT!

Amber Rose

We say: Loving the detailing on Amber’s crop, which shows the versatility of even the shortest hairstyle. Still loving the colour too!

Charlotte says: Amber’s short cropped bowl cut and shaved sides still looks as stunning as ever.

We say: Zendaya has divided critics with her BET Awards wig but we think it’s pretty cute. Either way, she’s young and having fun with her hair and the more of that we can see on the red carpet, the better!

Charlotte says: I’m not too sure about this cropped pixie cut wig. I much prefer her with the dreads.

Janelle Monae

We say: Janelle always brings it on the red carpet and this jumbo Rapunzel braid is no let down. We love the mohawk effect and – as always – her fearless sense of fun.

Charlotte says: Janelle wore an amazing dress with a beautiful cape that complemented her fierce fish braid Mohawk

Karrueche Tran

We say: Proving the grey hair trend is going nowhere, Karrueche debuted something new with this white-hot shade. Love the roots and the styling too.

Charlotte says: I love this silver grey side-parted soft wave, she pulls it off really well.
