ghd Style Squad 2015/16 Announced
The 12 talented stylists who will make up the ghd Style Squad 2015/16 have been announced, with a year of money-can’t-buy education and experiences ahead of them.
More than 200 stylists from across the country were invited to audition for the programme, which is now in its fourth year. From this record-breaking number, 32 were invited to audition at the ghd studio in London in front of a panel of judges including Karine Jackson, Zoe Irwin, Ken Picton and Leah Walton.
At the live auditions, each stylist was asked to recreate a look from one of their favourite fashion designers – demonstrating knowledge and insight of the designer and their work, as well as first-class hairdressing skills.
“Every year it gets harder and harder to choose the new team and this year has been no exception,” said Lorna Baker, ghd lead educator and style squad mentor. “The standard was really high and the talent, skill and passion shone through. It is a massive achievement to get to the audition stage and everyone that made it should be proud of being chosen out of so many applicants. I am really excited about getting started with this year’s team!”
Over the next twelve months, the ghd Style Squad will enjoy mentoring from some of the biggest names in hairdressing, backstage styling opportunities and education projects including – for the first time – the opportunity to complete the new ghd styling graduate qualification.
