Blunt Bobs

Moving away from layers and towards something sharper the trends will shift away from a mid length bob edging towards something with a bit more precision that will suit all face shapes and hair types. Zoe says the update on this style will be cut "roughly half ways between your ears and the nape of your neck" enhancing your natural bone structure. However, "short hair can need more styling maintenance" Zoe warns, but with the time saved on drying, this shouldn't be an issue. Less hair means lighter hair  so you will  need to alter the techniques you use. Not sure where to start? Be sure to ask your hairdresser to show you using the ghd platinum+styler. High Shine Hair

Something every client longs for is a healthy shine, no matter how their hair is styled. This finishing touch will be a key component for all trends throughout this year. Zoe says: "My favourite tool for glossy and nourished hair is the ghd curve creative curl wand, the perfect multi tasker when you want less uniformed waves.

This will be one of 2019's strongest look according to Zoe. Adding accessories to a hairstyles reveals an endless amount of possibilities and is a trend that she suspects began during the summer heatwave. "Syd Hayes launched his big hair pins which I love and Ashley Williamson launched the diamante clips too" Accessories have also been seen on models at Alexander Wang's show and went viral earlier this year when Magnus Juliano adopted logo beads and box braids on his Instagram. Accessories can add edge or glam to any look making them a go to this year. Zoe Irwin 2019 trends

Bolder braids

Braids are often used to add an ethereal element to hairstyles. This season they added tension and edge to many looks, a trend that may continue throughout the year. Specifically micro braids were seen in a variety of S/S19 shows so watch out for those across your timelines. Another use of this trend is the braid press. Inspired by Teen Vogue, Zoe is currently loving this technique. Follow her 3 simple steps to achieve this crimped look...
  1. Start to plait the hair from roughly 5cms down from your parting and braid until the end of the hair.
  2. Lightly clamp your ghd platinum+ styler along the hair.
  3. Brush out the finished look for extra volume and texture.
