Help clients combat frizz and breakage from winter accessories It’s one of the toughest times of year for the hair with the cold harsh winds, high central heating temperatures and rain. Then on top of that clients throw on synthetic hats and scarves that cause static and rub again the hair cuticles. To help clients to maintain their gorgeous salon looks it’s essential that they know how to protect their hair from the ravishes of winter. We asked Darcie Harvey from Brooks & Brooks, London for her tips on beating hat hair.

Tip for Clients To Hat Hair

1. Before wearing a hat, make sure hair is 100% dry, otherwise it will go frizzy and static. 2. Part hair in the opposite direction – then when you remove the hat it might be flat on top but you can flick the hair back into its usual direction and you’ll be left with your normal style. 3. Spritz hair with an anti-static spray before putting on the hat to avoid flyaways. 4. Pull hair into a loose ponytail or braids. These look great under a beanie and will help control texture and frizz. 5. A hydrating oil can help smooth frizz and flyaways. 6. Make a hat a part of your hair look, a loose waved fringe with a low pony and flat cap paired with a glam/sophisticated outfit is always a good look.
