From unicorn hair to watermelon colour, when it comes to quirky colour trends, social media is the place to spot the next big thing. And for 2017, we've spotted the split hair colour trend all over Instagram.
The technique involves working with two contrasting colours, usually placed either side of the of the head but can equally be used to accentuate cuts and break up structure, as Christel Lundqvist explains;
'This trend is great to use on fringes to create interest for simple shapes. It’s often used in editorial shoots to create separation on the fringe and break up shapes. Great technique to use in the salon to create a quirky edge between soft and strong shapes.'
