Choose hair new talent stage launches at salon international

With Salon International now less than three months away it's time to start revealing what delegates can expect from this year's show. As well as our usual stages; HJ Stage, HJ Men Stage, The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Stage and the 365 Business Bubble, we'll also have the Choose Hair New Talent Stage. This stage is to showcase the best of the new talent teams and apprentices in the industry in line with the Choose Hair campaign. Choose Hair is the movement to encourage more people, especially youth, to choose hairdressing as their career as less people are joining at the entry level and the industry suffers an apprentice crisis. The stage will not only offer new talent their first chance of stage work including the planning and executing of hair demonstrations but also give the audience a glimpse of what's to come for our exciting industry. Regarding the campaign Hairdressers Journal's executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr said: "Attracting new talent into hairdressing has to be a priority for us all and the Choose Hair campaign is designed to raise awareness of this amazing industry and the opportunities it presents to those prepared to work hard. The only limits to a career in hairdressing are those that individuals sets on themselves." To mix things up the stage will also host some industry veterans talking to the audience about topics such as branding, social media and building a portfolio.
