Mhd productions appoint middle east MHD Productions, the parent company of the world’s biggest hairdressing online training portal, MHD (MyHairDressers.com), is delighted to announce a partnership with Lama Azmi abdul Hadi, from Jolie Femme Beauty Academy, to offer online hairdressing training for the Middle East, across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Qatar. Lama was born and educated in Saudi Arabia and after high school, she went to a Swiss college to study Business Management. After graduation she moved to the US, working in PR, until she and her Jordanian husband settled in Jordan, where she opened a beauty centre. Beauty centres housing hair and beauty treatments under the same roof are commonplace in the Middle East, however there were few in Jordon, and Lama opened her first in 2009, followed by another in 2015. This year Lama opened her third beauty treatment centre, Jolie Femme Beauty Academy, adding a hair and beauty training school, with a curriculum in Arabic. academy-external The success of her training programme, led to the partnership with MHD Productions to deliver MHDPro.com in Arabic, which offers courses with a City & Guilds CPD Certificate of Recognition. Lama said, “I added the academy as I was struggling to find local qualified staff. In Jordan, most hairdressers and beauty therapists are local people, like in the UK, but in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, hairdressers are not generally nationals but immigrant workers from other countries. As employment law is significantly changing across the region, working with MHDPro.com will ensure that we can offer the training that the new generation of hairdressers need, wherever they are and whenever they need it.” Tuition videos by some of the world’s leading hairdressers such as Adam Reed, Tim Hartley, Stacey Broughton and Tracey Hayes are currently being translated into Arabic, ready for the official launch in January 2017. Mark Butcher, MHD Productions MD says, “It’s unbelievable that internationally recognised training organisations have insisted on offering hairdressing qualifications in this region only in English.  We are in the process of translating 140 videos into Arabic and all future videos will be multilingual to meet the needs of our international partners. Working with Lama will ensure that we support women seeking work in hairdressing in the changing Middle East climate.” www.joliefemmeacademy.com
