Headmasters opens new academy at kingston college Headmasters have announced their partnership with Kingston College, opening a brand new Headmasters Academy based at the college from the 12th September. Having implemented a successful up-skilling programme internally for their own apprentices and seeing an increase in customer satisfaction by 89% and apprentice retention and loyalty by 50%, Headmasters were keen to extend this winning formula into a college environment. The new academy will focus on 5 main areas within teaching; Train the Trainer, Educate the Student, Work Experience within Headmasters Salons, Management Support and Brand Recognition leading to higher standards for clients and students. Julie Watkins, Head of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at Kingston College says, “We are absolutely delighted by this exciting new partnership between Kingston College and Headmasters.  This collaboration between a highly successful college and major hairdressing employer will ensure that all our hairdressing students graduate from Kingston College with the excellent technical and employability skills that the next generation of young hairdressers need to secure employment in this wonderful industry. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership”. Stephen McManus, Head of Education at Headmasters says, “We are really excited to launch our College partnership initiative.  We saw that there was a real skills gap between college expectations of a stylist and salon expectations of a stylist. This paired with a shortage of stylists in the U.K. led us to taking a new and exciting step.  I am confident that we can really make a difference at Kingston College. they already show a high standard of work with a strong focus on employability which we are looking forward to strengthening.  Headmasters blend of techniques and philosophies would benefit colleges as a whole, raising their standards to a level where their students are employable and successful as soon as they enter the hairdressing industry.'
