Hair how to: perfect beachy waves with s j forbes

With the summer holidays here we caught up with Director of S J Forbes,  Hayley Gibson-Forbes to get her top tips to help your clients get perfect, holiday waves.

'Beachy waves are a no-brainer for summer holiday styling. Quick to create and easy to maintain, even when exposed to chlorine and sea-water, they're gorgeous, relaxed and un-done.

To create beachy waves in hair that has a natural kink to it, salt spray is ideal; it offers intense texture and a tousled, just-off-the-beach effect. Recommend your clients to keep a sea salt spray in their beach bag for whenever hair needs an extra boost in curl or volume.

For clients with more unruly, frizzy hair or difficult curls, recommend an intense control smoothing serum. This will create serious shine, help to smooth and add much needed moisturise. Use only a small quantity and add it to the hair both before blowdrying or apply to damp hair and let it air-dry. Look for a serum with a 24-hour humidity protection and UV filter so that hair is not only nourished and styled, but protected for the summer season.'
