Duffy's style hits all the right notes

Duffy.jpgTaking us back to the days when Dusty Springfield made blue-eyed soul popular, Duffy has won a wealth of accolades and the number one spot for her debut album.

But will our experts show Mercy for Duffy's hairstyle or is she in need of a spot of de-Dustying?

"Duffy's Dusty Springfield-inspired hair is bang on trend," says Jayson Gray, international technical creative director from TONI & GUY.

"The use of multi-tones, such as sheer beige, warm blonde and disco gold all complement her complexion and enliven her sweetheart features.

"Even with dusky roots on show this look is really up to date, easy to achieve and I wouldn't change a thing."

Just like her powerful and edgy voice, there's something razor sharp about Duffy's hair too, according to Aveda creative director Antoinette Beenders.

She says: "Duffy's long layers have been razor-cut for a fine finish, and it looks as though her fringe has been razored too, so it falls gently across her forehead.

"To get this look, I would suggest blow-drying, then use straightening irons on sections to create loose curls. Finish by running your fingers through the hair to break up the curls and mist with serum for extra shine."
