Nicely tousled and tonged, with a glamorous finish.

Verdict: It’s a hit

Kate Winslet

a beautifully sleek chignon,  with plenty of high shine.

Verdict: It’s a hit

Meryl Streep

I’d have advised a groomed ponytail, giving a more glamorous effect.

What was she thinking?

Sally Field

A long, layered shape, with plenty of body and movement.

Verdict: It’s a hit

The Men:

Dev Patel

A boyish crop and smartly appropriate, but definitely no wow factor.

Could do better

Jeremy Piven

Unkept, natural and masculine, really working with the whole image.

Verdict: It’s a hit

Mickey Rourke

So wrong that its right, a lived in and good example of effortless styling.

Cool and understated, the perfect black tie approach.

It’s a hit.
