The Best BAFTAS 2020 Hair for 2020

Kate Middleton

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8GeRWMHi0R/ Kate Middleton was a huge hit at the event with two stylists choosing her as their favourite. Session stylist James Alfie Parr says: “The Duchess wore a beautiful updo and opted for a really elegant style. Her slightly volumised quiff pulled back into intricate braids has been teased to create lots of texture, her look oozes shine and appears healthy and clean, which adds to the pristine style she is known for. Kate emphasised her updo with gorgeous statement earrings and a matching necklace to complete her classic princess appearance.” HJ's Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional Sharon Malcolm says: "Kate Middleton has the perfect head of hair and this style is no exception. Alternate pieces of her hair have been twisted at each side to create more volume and a broader upstyle, intertwining like a shoelace effect for a very regal and sophisticated finish. It’s a lot fuller and bigger than her usual styles but its perfect for this glamorous event.”

Renée Zellweger at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8FO444AS8f/ HJ's Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, Sharon Malcolm says, "This style really suits Renée as it's soft and feminine. Her hair has been pulled into a chignon at the nape of her neck then unstructured to be beautifully undone. There soft tendrils shapes her face, neck and shoulders beautifully.”

Zazie Beetz at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8E_3lHHTFo/ Karine Jackson from Karine Jackson Hair & Beauty says: "Zadie looked fabulous, working the trend of sleek at the sides and asymmetrical styling on this glamorous take of a dreadlock hairstyle, with a soft braided feel." Harry Casey, senior stylist and Afro specialist at Jamie Stevens Hair adds: "We love a box braid and this is the perfect example of bringing protective style into high glamour. Box braids are great for giving your hair a break whilst still nailing a fashion forward look. This is the perfect street style pushed onto the red carpet!"

Zoe Kravitz at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8GSMFvBmKH Jay Birmingham, celebrity hairdresser and owner of Jay Birmingham Hair says, “Zoe’s sleek, wet cropped look was accented by a single deep S-wave, which adds an edge to her look, but this is contrasted with the use of classy coral lipstick and statement earrings.”

Jodie Smith Turner at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8FQB4ogcXG/ Karine Jackson, from Karine Jackson Hair & Beauty says: "I love this curly bob, it’s a great shape. Curly hair is a huge trend and short curly fringes are also a massive favourite of mine. This style can be achieved by using Curlformers as they help natural curls to reform their shape, I’d use a spiral one for this effect."
Harry Casey, senior stylist and Afro specialist at Jamie Stevens Hair adds: "We are totally obsessed with this look from Jodie Smith Turner! The shape, the texture, and the fringe is the perfect haircut for her! It shows off her sculpted cheekbones, defines her jaw, and is one of our favourite looks on the red carpet this year.

Emilia Clark at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8E5UCopHXi/ Jay Birmingham, owner of Jay Birmingham Hair says: “Emilia Clark rocked the red carpet with a deep side-parting tied back into a sleek knot, showcasing her glossy brunette locks. A simple, yet beautiful look.”

Margot Robbie at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8FYkL-lGjr/ Session Stylist James Alfie Parr  says, “ Margot Robbie’s low-key hairstyle is dubbed as ‘the sculpted wave’, proving that effortless chic always has a place on the red carpet. The simple side-parting and strands in front of her face create a beautiful and natural looking wave. This is a simplistic but chic look to achieve for a hairstyle that’s not too polished.”

Jessie Buckley at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Es7AWF9Kn/ Jason Hogan, colour expert at Josh Wood Atelier says: “A choppy bob will never go out of fashion, but Jessie Buckley transformed the style by adding a beautiful dusty copper tone creating a luxurious finish. With a modern textured ear-length bob and square fringe, this look shows off her copper tones beautifully and pairs well with her berry lip and statement brows.” Philipp Haug, international artistic director Toni & Guy adds, “This super-modern bob really suits Jessie Buckley, I love the choppy ends and short fringe, it really shows off her swan-like neck. The vibrant copper red really makes the whole look ‘pop’.”

Ella Balinska at BAFTAs 2020

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8GlxKBnE9G/ Suzie McGill, owner of Rainbow Room International’s Uddingston Salon and Schwarzkopf Professional UK ambassador says, “One of my favourite looks from this year’s BAFTA Awards was from Ella Balinska. Ella wore a super high pony that looked incredibly chic and her hairstyle complimented the pop of bright pink eye shadow she wore.  Ella’s pony was kept super sleek, with all the hair kept off her face and wrapped with a section of her hair around the tie for a more glamorous finish.”
