How to achieve a sleek wet-look style on naturally curly hair Zendaya's latest red carpet appearance was stunning. The 21 year old star strutted down the MTV Movie awards red carpet in a gorgeous tan leather dress, golden make-up and hair that perfectly pulled the look together. "Whenever I’m doing Zendaya’s hair, it’s always a collaborative effort between her, her stylist Law Roach, and myself. After seeing her killer leather dress, we decided on a slick look with a deep side part. We had to add our own twist by keeping her natural texture in the back," said her hairstylist Ursula Stephen. Here, Ursula gives her tips and trick on recreating this look, which can be tricky on naturally curly hair... To start, I ran a small amount of leave in conditioning cream throughout her damp hair, followed by a generous spritz of a heat protectant spray all over to help smooth the hair and combat frizz while adding a layer of heat protection. Once hair was prepped, I parted her hair to the side and began working a gel from roots to mid length in small sections to ensure each strand was coated before combing it down and behind her ears. When I got the hair where I wanted it, I went in with my ghd air hairdryer with the concentrator nozzle attachment and locked the slick look in by blowing heat down the hair shaft to ensure it was totally smooth and in place. Next, I focused my attention on the back of her hair and revived the curl a bit with a combination of a heat protectant spray and a texturising cream. Once the product was layered in, I switched the concentrator on my hairdryer for the ghd air diffuser and then diffused the hair in place until it was completely dry and ready for the night. I finished by adding a smooth and shine serum into the part area and a few inches down, followed by a generous amount of hairspray. Once everything was set and dry, I sprayed a dry oil mist all over for a final boost of shine. https://www.instagram.com/p/BkK1_fehdDc/?hl=en&taken-by=ursulastephen Lead image via REX/Shutterstock
