How to work with a brand - paul callaghan x crazy color Working with brands is a big part of establishing yourself as an authoritative voice in hairdressing – in this series we talk to stylists that have formed a partnership with huge brands, how they did it and why it works... The opportunity for Paul Callaghan to become a Crazy Color brand ambassador came via social media. Posting my work and tagging the products I used put me on their map. They reached out and we set up a meeting to chat about our expectations moving forward. If there is a brand you use and love, talk about it, tag them and start building a rapport. https://www.instagram.com/p/BkVfEAUBdAr/?taken-by=paulcallaghanhair I was afraid of being put in a box. Many brands want an exclusive contract, but they just don’t suit me as I’m an independent stylist and educator. Crazy Color allows me to have the freedom as an artist to create looks with various brands. That's what sold it to me.
The brand actively encourages me to use what I want and do what I love
The career opportunities are the best thing about being an ambassador. It's been great for my own personal brand because it has giving me a wider range of opportunities, filming, stage work, travelling - the list goes on. They have allowed me to grow as a stylist and on a personal level. This article originally appeared in the May 2018 issue of Hairdressers Journal. To subscribe click below.
