Dafni founder talks about her design inspiration In a world of fast beauty, the DAFNI has become a popular style essential to create quick and beautiful looks. Co-founder of DAFNi Sharon Rabi, talks about the inspiration behind creating the heated tool.   Where did the idea for DAFNI brush come from? After finding myself with a too short haircut I immediately purchased a flat iron. While the results were satisfying the time consumption and complexity frustrated me. As an engineering and physics student learning about the great innovations in the tech world, I felt this field was being left behind. I've later discovered the patent for flat irons was first filed in 1909. What does DAFNI mean? DAFNi is my sister's name. I was lucky my father helped and couldn't have done it without his expertise and years of experience as a leading engineer and the Israeli High-Tech. We decided to name it after my younger sister so she felt involved, now she is the project manager. What inspired you to create the brush? After starting to use a flat iron I was enslaved to the result. When I went on holiday I woke up 20-minutes earlier to be 'selfie ready.' I felt like I joined a secret club of women who are enslaved to their hair I felt we can and should do something better, to get gorgeous hair in a faster, simpler and healthier way. Take us through the steps of concept to salon. I am such a big fan of hairdressers, they turn hair into art and it is fascinating to watch. DAFNI comes as 'next day hair,' a safer way to maintain the hair for longer. Hairdressers want their clients to be bold with their haircuts and to keep them looking good at home. That's where DAFNi comes in. What advice would you give salons owners who have an innovative idea? 1 Get inspired. So many entrepreneurs started with a simple new idea. 2 Don't be intimated by the start-up generation, you don't need millions to start. 3 Find strategic partners for each part of the journey and listen to your gut. These partnerships can be stronger than marriage.
