It will be awarded to salons whose staff have completed a free virtual salon online training programme. The programme has been designed by the Ecohair team at the University of Southampton and in association with VTCT and Habia, which teaches stylists about key sustainability concepts, technologies and practices. You can find out more about the award at www.ecohairandbeauty.com The certification is set to launch at Karine Jackson’s West End salon, Karine Jackson Hair & Beauty on Wednesday 17 January. Attendees can expect to meet industry professionals, hear a short talk by project leader Dr Denise Baden, learn tips that are good for hair, save time, money and energy as well as being great for the planet too. They can also get free samples and see demonstrations of some new eco technologies such as the Scirocco Smooth which sucks water from the hair removing the need for washing towels which saves lot of water, energy and money.
