Aveda Launches Salon Booking System for Clients and Salons
As part of Aveda’s mission to help salons on the road to recovery post-COVID-19, the professional hair brand has launched a new salon booking system to bring new hair clients into the salon.
The initiative is part of the Aveda Cares Support Plan which guides every decision the company makes and aims to provide hair salons with a robust recovery plan to rebuild, support and care for independently-owned salons in the ‘new normal’.
What is Aveda’s new salon booking system?
The Aveda salon booking system launched this month and it is called Powered by Flossie. It is a digital-first service connecting salons with Aveda.co.uk to help identify and encourage new hair clients to book into independently-run Aveda salons.
Luke Evans, Aveda vice president general manager UK & Ireland said:
The ‘new normal’ has changed, but with our new industry-first initiative, Powered by Flossie, we continue to support our salons by helping rebuild and grow their businesses with new clients by utilising our extensive Aveda retail customer database.
Jenene Crossan, Powered by Flossie Founder and CEO explained product companies are being asked to step-up and help high street salons with client-led digital solutions that will make it easier to get clients back into salons. She explained:
“There has been a non-trivial problem holding back the industry – global hair colour product companies – such as Aveda – have enormous and very fragmented salon distribution networks. These salons use many varied salon management software systems across their individually-run businesses making it impossible to aggregate their availability data.”
Powered by Flossie aims to help solve this problem by helping clients find independently-run salons via Aveda’s website.
Susannah Jones, co-founder of Butchers London salon is excited about Aveda’s new booking initiative. She said:
To be able to benefit from Aveda’s huge following at such a local level is game changing.
Powered by Flossie works by curating available appointment times across the network of Aveda partner salons and promoting them through social media as well as Aveda’s official website – Aveda.co.uk.
The idea is for hair clients to book an appointment online and for Aveda to digitise, merchandise and track the full client journey on behalf of the hair salon and across Aveda’s network of independently-run salons.
Hair salons can use the service with their existing software providers with the aim of giving the client a customer-first approach where they can book salon services and products together online.
