The new Aveda Dual Exfoliation Power Peel Treatment promises to renew tired and dull-looking skin with the effectiveness of medispa treatments, but with none of the associated redness or irritation. Using a combination of multi-layered exfoliation techniques, skin is buffed to perfection to leave it looking instantly brighter with fine lines and visible pores diminished. And, this being Aveda, the results might be powerful but the process is gentle. High-tech plant and flower ingredients are used in combination with high-touch facial therapy for results that are comparable to those of microdermabrasion and a glycolic peel combined - but without the inflammation and irritation that is often associated with these processes. Products involved include the clay-based scrub, Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner for a mechanical exfoliation technique; Outer Peace Exfoliating Pads, which are used to prepare the skin for Aveda’s natural alternative to a 30% glycolic peel; and the Outer Peace Cooling Masque, which ends the treatment with aloe and alfalfa to calm and hydrate the skin. We tried it, and were more than happy to leave the spa to face the world with glowing skin that looked and felt ten years younger - and had none of the usual post-facial redness.
