Fotis sfetas joins toni & guy’s international artistic team On Tuesday 14 January, Toni & Guy’s flagship academy saw Fotis Sfetas become the newest creative talent to join the brand’s internationally renowned Artistic Team as an artistic director. The team includes some of the best stylists and technicians in the industry, and are considered to be one of the driving forces behind the global success of Toni&Guy. In attendance was the brand’s chief executive officer, Nigel Darwin and creative director Cos Sakkas, in addition to Fotis’ friends, family and fellow Artistic Team colleagues who all gathered to celebrate his talent and achievement. Fotis’ Sfetas new role as an artistic director will see him lead shows at London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s, teach a selection of courses at the academy and around the globe from beginners to advanced. He will spend time travelling and collaborating with leading fashion designers and will gain more knowledge into cultural hair trends, creating hair for editorial shoots and direct creative shows. Fotis’ hairdressing career began as a barber for the Greek army, before becoming an assistant at a salon in Athens. Hair soon became his passion and he then after started to experiment with different hairstyles as a way to express himself. His career journey with Toni & Guy started before he could speak English or cut hair. After attending a Toni & Guy Artistic Team show in Athens, his dream was to be on that very stage. Toni & Guy has always believed in the importance of educating new talent and recognising their skill. Through this philosophy, the brand’s International Artistic Team go through rigorous training to ensure they are the most prolific Artistic Team in the world. Cos Sakkas said, “After seeing Fotis’ development through years of hard work and training, it’s always rewarding to see new talent progress through the academy. His skills and ability are top level and I’m very proud to welcome him to our strong team."
