Apprentice wins dream job

Apprentice wins dream job When hairdressing apprentice, Lillie Sutton, won a hairdressing competition through her training provider she thought she could not be happier, until her win led to a dream job offer. Lillie left school at 16 and begun her hairdressing career with Phase 2 salon in Canvey where she trained with Central Hairdressing Academy. She loved her job and immediately grabbed every opportunity going including entering the annual photographic competition organised for apprentices by Central Hairdressing Academy. At the 2016 competition, Lillie pretty much swept the board winning not only the Year 3 Avant Garde styling category but also taking home the Joshua Galvin cup award to the apprentice who most impressed the judges! Her dedication, talent and passion was spotted by Stephen Nurse, Operations Director, Daniel Galvin, who was at the competition to present the Joshua Galvin Cup. Lillie, 21, said: “Stephen asked me if I would like to spend the day at the Daniel Galvin salon and I jumped at the chance. It has always been my dream to work there..” And after a day spent in the salon, Lillie’s dream came true as she was offered a full time position at the London salon. Since joining the salon late last year, Lillie’s feet have not touched the ground. As well as being busy in the salon, numerous opportunities have come her way and she is enjoying every second of her working life. She added: “I have been involved in lots of photoshoots and I also attended London Fashion Week working backstage at the Ethologie show. “I am having the most exciting adventure of my life and I can’t thank the people who helped me start my career enough!”
