There are literally hundreds of hairdressing videos on social networking video site YouTube - covering everything from live shows and hairdressing events to step-by-steps or individual hairdressers cutting clients' hair in the salon.

Going forward, I'm going to point you in the direction of some of the hairdressing videos that most catch my eye on YouTube - starting with this funky cut by Takashi Kitamura.

I was mesmerised by Takashi's unique cutting style when I saw him on stage at Paul Mitchell's The Gathering in Vegas last July.

And, even though this video is a few years old now, I think it highlights his laid back freestyling perfectly.
