The stars were celebrating the launch of the exhibition that celebrates the styles of American women from 1890s-1940s and how this has affected the way that American women are perceived today.

Gwen Stefani opted for an Hitchcock-inspired, icy blonde updo that was created with a neat pleat to the back. JLo went for more of a 60s sex kitten do with a long soft fringe and peices pulled through the front to soften the style. And Diane Kruger looked gorgeous with a neat, slicked back updo and soft bun combo.

Kate Hudson flirted with a plaited updo which echoed spring/summer festival and catwalk looks. Eva Mendes sported a Spanish-inspired style with a swishing ponytail and floral frock and kate-gala-back-small.jpgsupermodel Giselle went for the standard, fresh-faced, slicked-back pony.

There wasn't one single updo trend that the Hollywood A-listers followed although there was a loose retro theme in-keeping with the exhibition. The eclectic mix made for a visual feast of hair up heaven.
