Traditional skills

Traditional skills With news reports constantly reminding us that a growing number of children in school today have a less than adequate grasp of English and maths - the fundamentals of their education and the knowledge they will require as they move into adult life -  the hairdressing industry has to unite to ensure it doesn't lose the basic skills that the most talented hairdressers attribute their success too.

From finger waving to finishing, pin setting to rolling a perm, a great understanding and knowledge of the traditional hairdressing techniques are surely still the foundations on which to build a successful career? There is no doubt that the products, tools and equipment being used by professionals have all advanced at a phenomenal rate, which has been great for the industry as a whole, but ensuring that the students being trained today have a complete and rounded hair education is vital.

I for one feel we need to keep these skills alive.
