"Angelina looked stunning on the red carpet. It was refreshing to see her dropping a relaxed but still elegant look.  I'm not convinced the colour is great with her skin tone but she looked radiant so fair play to her."

Kirsten Wiig

"Kirsten went for a relaxed yet stylish look, with her glossy waves. The colour and shine really stands out as she went for natural make up and nude colour dress. A great example of less is more. "

"Taking inspiration from Blondie, Anna looks wicked here. Her style has a strong attitude about but doesn't look out of place on the red carpet. The spider fringe is bang on and she's rocking the platinum blonde.  A winning look."

Rose Byrne

"Although we've seen it numerous times, it's a statement maker. The bob length was all about encouraging shine and a high gloss finish."

"I would like to have seen more interest with Busy's hair. She could have chosen to show off the colour more buy adding movement through the length. I like to see hair pulled over to one side, it shows off her neck and statement earring but I would have pushed the whole look further."

Stacey Keibler

"The honey blonde tone of Stacey's hair is a wonderful match for her gold dress. Placing the hair to one side with the lose waves creates a great Hollywood glamour look. "

"There is always somebody who goes for a change with a haircut and this one stuck out for me; great shape, long round layers and slightly shattered ends. I like the texture, it wasn't glamour driven it had a matte feeling too it without it looking to unstructured and messy, the sort of hair she will undoubtedly run her fingers through and shake."

Glenn Close

"Glenn brings style with a relaxed feel to the red carpet  - a great combination that balances out her tuxedo style jacket. Again a good use of product here, as the hair looks free to move."

Emma-Stone-gwyneth-paltrow-oscars-hair-2012.jpg
Emma Stone

"Beautiful! The detail, the shine, the elegance and the softness - this is perfect red carpet look for Emma. The use of product is brilliant distributed, as the hair doesn't look too sold, it has an effortless about it."

Gwyneth Paltrow

"There is always one person who you know will drop the same look and Gwyneth Paltrow with her straight one length centered long bob is a certainty.... so she went and mixed up and fair play to her. I thought she was one of the highlights. She was on trend with a low ponytail that almost looked like a faux bob from the front but the back revealed a low tied sleek ponytail."

"JLO dropped a woven bun and as always, looks great with her hair up. Very rarely does she get it wrong, beautiful, elegant and chic all the things a woman should aspire to on the red carpet."

Olivia Wilde

"The classic ballet bun is perfect for Olivia. It flatters her beautiful neck line and accentuates her blue eyes. "

Jessica Chastain

"This is a stunning look for Jessica. There is nothing too obvious about her style but she's keep with the trend for not having hair too polished. The sculpted neckline, delicate earrings and tendrils frame Jessica's face perfectly."

Kim Kardashian

"The classic half up and half down. A simple up-do is all Kim needs as her locks are gorgeous and shiny. The added volume at her crown makes the look more red carpet worthy. "

Kelly Osbourne

"Wicked style for Kelly. You can't fault this and she knows that. Look how confident she is. The colour is bang on, the height and side fringe balance with her face shape."

Milla Jovovich

"This is definitely a more sophisticated look for Milla, we normally see her with longer wavy hair.  This cropped bob really works for her, as it really flatters her beautiful striking features. "

Meryl Streep

"Meryl made an entrance with a bespoke gold Lanvin dress and matching gold accessories. To complement her dress she has kept her hair simple yet elegant, with a classic French roll. A classic updo for classic actress - but I bet she let her down when celebrating winning Best Actress."

Tina Fey

"Tina has made the traditional ballet bun more rock and roll by adding more volume and donning a pair a wicked earrings."

Michelle Williams

"My favourite of the night! I love Michelle for her edgy and unique style. She rocks the pixie crop so well! The cut is perfect for her, as it complements her petite face. Overall it amplifies her cuteness."

Viola Davis

"Viola kept it very natural on this occasion, instead of relying on her usual wigs. Her recent switch to wearing natural curls gives her an effortless look with minimal make up and flawless skin. "

Natalie Portman

"Natalie's vintage Dior polka-dot dress was definitely a statement within itself which has she complemented perfectly by keeping her hair relaxed but yet very glamorous with a sleeked back side parting. "

Penelope Cruz

"The stand-out down do for me, paying homage to and slightly reminiscent of hair icon Grace Kelly. Penelope's versatility is unarguable; she sets the tone of awards season. This wave is achieved by curling the hair on a medium iron in brickwork formation and left to set. Copious amounts of mousse is vital for the hair to have substance to be sculpted in such formation."

"Rooney Mara dominates the bun. She leads the way and even though she was predictable she was still so chic. I love her razor sharp fringe, which has become her signature look. She nodded to the runway with a sleek high shine almost wet finish."

Octavia Spencer

"Octavia has created a gorgeous natural look here. Her hair is styled really well, combining a sleek side parting with a tied-up style for an effortless feel."

Sandra-Bullock-berenice-bejo-ocsars-hair-2012.jpg
Sandra Bullock

"Sandra's statement style was the winning ponytail of the evening. Hair was pulled back and off the face, which something Sandra is prone to do. The texture was more distressed and dishevelled to add an element of interest."

Berenice Bejo

"I'm really fond of a braid on the red carpet, it adds a bit of fun to the evening and lightens the mood of what can potentially get stiff at times. Here we see Berenice's red hair braided on the hairline and gathered into a low knot at the nape of the neck. It was executed very well and something that would have comfortable befitted the runway."
