Red Carpet Hair: The Screen Actors Guild Awards

The respected Screen Actors Guild Awards brought the stars out for a night of gorgeous gowns, awards and chic hair.

We find out whose locks looked fabulous on the night.

    sandrabullocksm.jpgSandra Bullock

“Sandra Bullock’s flyaway styling is a clever counterpoint to the elaborate collar detail of her dress, a more structured or polished do could have tipped her over the edge and into the “tried too hard” category and aged her. The cool brunette tone is her signature look and for good reason, it still suits her.”

    Jamilla Paul, Jamila Paul, Rochdale

    helenmirrensml.jpgHelen Mirren

“Helen has gone for a classic Hollywood up do here but by opting for soft lines and finish has chosen a flattering way to wear the look. The colour is cleverly done, she has depth and tone but using a very natural colour palate helps to create this very elegant overall look.” Aaron Blondell, John Carne Hairdressing, Guildford

    christinahendricksm.jpgChristina Hendricks

Christina- as gorgeous as she is, Christina cannot get away with this pulled back look-it’s way too severe. Loose tendrils framing the face would’ve softened her look and subtract attention from her wide forehead.

    Tomm Buknell, seanhanna

    dianekrugersml.jpgDiane Kruger

Diane- I love the fact that Diane is adventurous and always experiments with her hair for red carpet events. Here her up do is played down gorgeously with a loose pony and long waves side fringe. Elegant yet understated enough for her award to steal the limelight!

    Tomm Buknell, seanhanna

Mo’ Nique’s soft flicks accentuates her high cheek bones and draws attention away from her rounded features. I would however add a blunt cut fringe to define her found features a bit more.

    Lawrence Paul, Lawrence Paul Salons

    drewbarrymoresm.jpgDrew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore is famous for her hair disasters in the past, she nearly got it right here with her dishevelled up do albeit it’s bordering on the “messy” side. Drew looks her best when she’s not trying too hard-simple carefree waves would look perfect on her.
