Paul meekin's shaping futures success story

Paul Meekin from Partners Hair & Beauty in Belfast is delighted to announce that all of the students he worked with in India as part of the Shaping Futures initiative, have been offered a place at the Bangalore training school of Naturals; one of the largest hairdressing salon chains in India. Depending on the success of their studies, the students could also be offered a job at the end of their training period. Paul was part of the Shaping Futures initiative last year and volunteered on a two-week training trip to Bawana in India. Along with other volunteers, he provided hairdressing training in the foundations of cutting, colouring and styling. The programme, launched in 2010 by Schwarzkopf Professional in cooperation with SOS Children's Villages, supports disadvantaged young people living in developing countries by enabling them to learn skills in order to secure a job and earn and living. Schwarzkopf Professional supports the initiative by providing skilled trainers and the necessary hairdressing tools. Paul says: "Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported our fundraising events last autumn.
