Marsala named pantone colour of the year 2015 Marsala Named Pantone Colour of the Year 2015 Marsala has been named Pantone Colour of the Year 2015; a shade that's described as 'a naturally robust and earthy wine red'. Each year, the colour agency choose a colour that sums up the mood of the coming months. For 2015, it's all about Marsala - and we think this rich, sultry red is a perfect one for hairdressers to get excited about. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says: "Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors." Described as "an incredibly versatile colour for beauty," Marsala is an appealing and sophisticated shade that's flattering against many skin tones.
