Marsala named pantone colour of the year 2015

Marsala has been named Pantone Colour of the Year 2015; a shade that's described as 'a naturally robust and earthy wine red'. Each year, the colour agency choose a colour that sums up the mood of the coming months. For 2015, it's all about Marsala - and we think this rich, sultry red is a perfect one for hairdressers to get excited about. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says: "Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors."
