Scissor Sisters in Maidstone, Kent, is the ultimate example of a family business. Owned by parents Bob and Sandra Kitchin and run by their daughters Laura and Hannah, the salon also has a photographic studio where the girls will offer client makeover portrait pictures, in partnership with Bob, a professional photographer.Having taken over a part-time salon in April 2007, the girls completely gutted and re-built it in a modern, relaxed decor before re-opening the doors the following month. "It was important that the salon had a modern stylish look, while providing comfort. Many of our clients have complimented the staff on this," explains Hannah.
