Inspiring show to celebrate clynol's stars

Clynol-Profile-Weekend.jpgThe teams from Lisa Shepherd Salons, Angels and Ethos Hairdressing gave a thrilling insight into the key looks for spring/ summer at the 2012 Clynol Profile Weekend.

The trends showcase from Clynol's leading ladies was the crescendo of the weekend's activities, which included team building, an inspiring seminar and the company's business and creative awards.

The presentation began with Lisa Shepherd and her protégés Tim Scott-Wright and Katie Mulcahy demonstrating Tonal Fusion, Clynol's interpretation of the dip-dye trend.

"Tonal Fusion is a classic, easy technique you can take back to your business," said Lisa.

"I hope that you like it and that it helps you to sell colour in your business."

The four catwalk-inspired creations ranged from a grown-up sophisticated fusion from dark blonde to golden blonde, to the teenage take on the trend in platinum blonde with pastel pink ends.

Men's hairdressing was the remit of Tracey Devine and her right-hand woman Janer Stewart, who recreated looks from Tracey's 2011 Men's Hairdresser of the Year finalist's collection.

Grunge was the buzzword as they presented longer textured hair and a quirky yet wearable mohawk all complemented by barely there colours.

"Everyone who comes into the salon is a potential colour client. Don't be afraid to ask men if they would like something to freshen it up or hide the greys. The chances are they would be too shy to ask."

Next it was the turn of Sharon Peake and her business partner Adam Bryant to share their couture creations.

The wet-look catwalk trend was very much in evidence in the duo's quartet of looks, while halos of curls framed the face to create a dramatic contrast of textures.

With guests buzzing from the inspiring trends presentation, it was time to celebrate Clynol's other stars of the last 12 months. The award winners were:

  • Colour Hotshot of the Year: Sarah Harrison, En Route
  • Young Creative Talent of the Year: Jordan Irven, Thomas & Miles Hairdressing
  • Website and Social Media: Hair @ Jibe
  • Salon Trainee of the Year: Emma Harrison
  • Men's Image of the Year: Paul O'Donovan, Ethos
  • Image of the Year, Newcomer: Martin Cole, Klickers
  • Image of the Year: Jill Watkins-Wright, Watkins-Wright
