Hob salons create a colour spectacular

hob-salon-main.jpgFirey reds, vivacious violets and beautiful blondes set the tone as hob salons showed you can push the boundaries but still meet your clients' needs in their Salon Seminar.

Taking inspiration from Vivienne Westwood, artist Marcus Rothko and Louis Vitton, this was all about using colour to create a wow factor.

Colour guru Christel Lundqvist created a series of stunning hairstyles, as blondes were given flashes of black, violet and blue; reds were infused with coppers and plums and brunettes received the glossiest shine.

Throughout the seminar, Christel emphasised two priorities when working with colour. Firstly, that you should be clear when you explain colour to your clients.

"You must talk in language that people understand, they won't understand a number so say chocolate brown, or latte or burned copper," she explains.

"If you can it's always better to show someone the colour."

Secondly, she emphasised how important it is that the colour must works well with the hair cut.

In this respect, hob were true to their word as the colours beautifully complemented their signature bobs, 80s inspired crops and up-to-the minute curls.

Even when it came to long hair, hob showed that keeping the length doesn't have to mean playing it safe - cutting in funky fringes and square layers for an edgy look.

And to emphasise their philosophy, artistic director, Akin Konizi, gave his audience all the encouragement they needed to push the boundaries.

"Our main philosophy is not just crazy hair styles and funky cuts. We do everything we can to make us successful," he said.

"But I believe in pushing it, and if you've got a girl who is up for doing something different go for it!"
