Hairstyle hits and misses at 2013 nickleodeon kid's choice awards

The Nickleodeon Kid's Choice Awards are always a good opportunity for celebrities to have some fun with their look, with the informal event providing the perfect choice for a more relaxed red carpet look.
Little Mix provided a prime example of how to dress for the show, with four typically fun and fresh looks. Leigh-Anne dressed up her newly-blue curls with a Minnie Mouse bow - a perfect match for her polka-dot ensemble - while Jade, who is also rocking a blue-black shade, kept things simple with smooth curls.
Jade showed off her pastel pink candyfloss shade with a matching fluffy textured updo, while Jesy's long loose waves were given a trademark edge with dip-dyed red lengths.
Also bringing the fun factor to her look was Kristen Stewart, who switched her usual mane of tousled waves for something a little more together.
This fishtail braid is a perfect look on KStew - while I love her couldn't-care-less bedhead texture, using it as a base for a braid makes for a brilliant red carpet look.
The loose texture around the face is a nice touch too - overall an A+ look and how refreshing is it to see Kristen do something new with her hair?
Selena Gomez also opted for a braided style, with a large loose braid right down the centre of her head.
This is a really soft, pretty take on this style - a perfect match for Selena and a nice match to her loose waves too.
My only problem with this look is that Selena's lengths cover up some of the frill detailing on her intricate Oscar de la Renta top.
Jessica Alba was also in attendance and while her colour looked as immaculate as ever, I'm not too keen on the Kelly Kaposwki swoop.
We've seen quite a lot of on the catwalks recently and while it works well with the grungy texture, the quiffed bit just looks a bit too Saved by the Bell for my tastes.
Still, Jessica can't do much wrong and I loved her Mary Katrantzou dress - it would have just been great to see her with the hair up and off her face in a similar style to the catwalk look.
A newly-single Katy Perry also took to the red carpet showcasing a slightly shorter hairstyle than usual.
Looking as though she's ditched the extensions, at least temporarily, Katy's hair is about as natural as we've seen it for a long time.
I love the shorter length and the fact that she's made the decision to work with a less OTT style, but I'd like to have seen this style with a bit more of a uniform wave through it rather than just at the ends.
