Professional hair brands Goldwell & KMS California recently held an official opening party for their new London academy. The red tape was cut by president of Goldwell & KMS California UK and Ireland, Nick Wood and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing's Anne Herman.

The academy, located in Shaftesbury Avenue, will host educational courses, events and inspirational evenings.

The space accommodates three separate salon areas - two for Goldwell Colour and its courses and one for KMS California cutting and styling. There are also two classrooms with exposed brick walls and plasma screens, used for business courses and a lounge space where course attendees can relax, eat lunch or enjoy a freshly brewed cappuccino from the new coffee bar area.

"The opening of our new Academy is a major landmark in the evolution of the Goldwell and KMS California brands and businesses," said Nick Wood. " We wanted to make a statement to the industry and I truly believe we have achieved that and exceeded expectations. It is a hugely exciting time for such an investment in the future of all our salon customers and stylists."
