Owner Gianni worked with interior designer Elisa Gargan Giovannoni and furniture supplier Maletti to create the airy, modern, minimalist look. Despite its expansive size and open-plan design, Gianni believes it retains a welcoming vibe. “I would say it is a welcoming environment,” says Gianni. “It’s reminiscent of a modern villa or a sophisticated club, where visitors are surrounded by luxury and enjoy comfort.” One of the most striking features of the salon is the vast reception area which Gianni describes as resembling that of a contemporary luxury hotel. Within the space is a large backlit desk, feature armchairs, a retail display plus an innovative manicure section with tall stools and adjustable ceiling lights. “The design means that this space is now perfect for hosting events such as product and fashion launches,” says Gianni. The overriding colour scheme for the salon is a base of warm grey tones on both walls and floorings. “This creates a unitary space that acts as a backdrop to the strong colours and stylish design of the furniture.” On both a practical and aesthetic level, Gianni opted for recessed lighting designed to create a natural light effect. “This was key as we do a lot of colour work and it was important that the lighting didn’t affect colour perception,” says Gianni. Flooring was chosen for both its appearance and durability. “Given the high volume of people working and visiting the salon, flooring has been selected to resist strong wear and tear,” says Gianni. “We opted for big clay tiles, which look like stone – they are waterproof and resistant to hair colour stains.” There are three distinct styling spaces in the salon, each featuring a large mirror with a different design for each. Each mirror is partnered by its own style of chair, creating three ultra-stylish areas. The overall result is an open-plan salon that exudes class – a luxury home away from home.
