A £20,000 revamp of a former dairy barn has resulted in the opening of Gavin Taylor Hair, a new luxurious hair hub for the Leicester village of Rothley. Recruiting family and friends to assist, it took just over two months to transform the rustic space. Rewiring and re-plumbing were on the agenda, as well as a full redesign to turn a blank canvas into an inspiring and welcoming salon space. The look of the salon reiterates the building's heritage, with exposed oak beams and rustic pieces of furniture combined with quirky vintage finds. As well as creating an on-trend contemporary space, the salon revamp also placed a weighty emphasis on sustainability with the use of recycled and upcycled pieces. Eco-friendly materials were used wherever possible, a move that reflects the salon's desire to encourage both hairdressing salons and British businesses to care for the planet and make environmentally friendly changes.
