Chris Appleton has won countless accolades for his hairdressing work, including BBC Hairdresser of the Year and a place as finalist at HJ's British Hairdressing Awards.


As well as working at George's Hairdressing in Leicester, he's a busy session stylist and will be working in Paris and London this season.






































What are the five key items/products in your kit you couldn't survive without? 


  • Mason and Pearson brush
  • Hat elastic
  • French combs
  • Medium WAM tong 
  • Denman brush


What trends are you predicting for A/W 2012? 


Big hair! Not over-textured or curly, but still big. "The bigger the hair, the closer to Heaven" as they say.


What was your favourite show last season?


Chanel. It's always such a big production and it's really exciting to be part of Sam McKnight's team . The underwater theme was amazing and the hair was so simple but stunning. Working at the Grand Palais is the cherry on top - it's huge and the show uses the whole space. It's unbelievable, a truly inspiring vision


What's your favourite trend for S/S 2012?? 


The pastel shade in both mens and woman fashion is perfect for a real summer and so easy to wear
       
Three top tips for getting involved with session work? 


  • Work hard and keep your head down.
  • Learn, learn, learn - you have to be like a sponge and absorb everything. 
  • Socialise! Ralk to your mentors and get yourself heard about
