Fame team 2015: semi-finalists announced

The semi-finalists for the FAME Team 2015 have been announced, following a day-long audition and interview process at the Wella World Studio in London. There are just four places on the team up for grabs, and the auditions saw 16 young hopefuls whittled down to just eight. This eight will now go on to fight it out at Salon International, before the final four are announced in December. This year's semi-finals had a new format, with the young stylists tasked with working together in freshly-formed groups of four, not to judge individuals but rather how individuals work as part of a team. This year also saw the introduction of a cutting section, to really test skills. Throughout the course of the day, each of the talented individuals were also asked to prepare two models for the evening’s presentation. Finally, they had to undertake an interview with a panel of industry judges including past team members Katie Mulcahy and Leah Walton, ghd’s head of creative Andreas Stavrou and president of the Fellowship, Errol Douglas MBE. Before Errol handed over the honour of announcing the eight finalists to Fellowship chancellor Karine Jackson, he commented: "The FAME Team celebrates its 21st Anniversary this year and it’s been a joy to witness such talent and to see so many past members in the audience here tonight. These eight finalists are now embarking on a journey – first stop Salon International before the Fellowship Luncheon and Awards in December where the final four will be announced. Those of you not fortunate to get through this evening – stick with it – I want to see you back here next year!" The eight finalists are: Peter Burkill, HOB Camden Amelia Evans, Russell Eaton, Leeds Kate O’Sullivan, Francesco Group, Church Lane, Stafford Luke Benson, D & J Ambrose Melissa Timperley, Sassoon Manchester Rudi Rizzo, Sanrizz Matthew Gavin, Christian Wiles Hairdressing Lucy Tuck, Marc Antoni
