Cast of hairspray visit bradford college hair salon

The cast of musical comedy, Hairspray, recently left the West End for a visit to the salon at Bradford College in West Yorkshire.

Centenary Hair and Nails welcomed the stars of the show - including X Factor finalist, Marcus Collins and EastEnders star, Lucy Benjamin - for a bit of backcombing and bouffant perfection ahead of the opening night of their UK tour.

The first stop on the tour is Alhambra Theatre in Bradford and, as it's just a stone's throw from the college, provided a perfect chance for the students to put into practice what they'd learnt on their courses so far.

Commenting on how it felt to have the star of the show visit the salon, Programme Manager for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Janice Richardson said: "It's been very exciting and a fantastic opportunity for our students to take part and to gain further work experience of theatrical productions!  We would welcome the opportunity to work with the Alhambra on future collaborations."
