British barbers association appoints first approved training centre BBA and Calderdale CollegeCalderdale College has become the first approved training centre in the UK working alongside The British Barbers Association. The college has entered the BBA’s annual competition since the association launched it four years ago, winning the title College of the Year for the past two years. Many of the college’s learners have also picked up individual achievements. Explains Daniel Geraghty, barbering educator: “As part of the College of the Year Award we have been given the opportunity to work closely with the BBA to keep standards of barbering high in UK colleges. The BBA’s artistic director Chris Foster came to Calderdale College on the 6 October to present the award and to give us a day of demos and training, which was fantastic. “It is an amazing achievement to be the first official BBA approved training centre in the UK.  It is a great recognition of hard work from the barbering team. The partnership with BBA will ensure our educators and students receive expert advice and guidance which will enable the learners to go on and fulfil successful careers.”
