Battle of the tresses on new reality tv show

I love reality TV shows, and am currently hooked to Big Brother, but when it comes to hair-based shows, I'm always a little apprehensive. While we've only had a few on UK TV - The Salon, BBC3s Young Hairdresser of the Year and Celebrity Scissorhands - the US can't get enough of them. I've seen a few on LivingTV, including Shear Genius, and now it looks like a new hair show is about to launch. While Shear Genius looked at the commercial aspects of hair, Hair Battle Sepectacular is about the avant garde and fantasy world as ten stylists pit against each other for the $100,000 prize. Starting on 10 August, it might be interesting for hairdressers, but will viewers get it, or will it bring the industry into disrepute? Only time will tell.
