Sorry it has taken so long to get round to replying, you know how it is!! Long hours and little free time.

I hold the view that further training/education/CPD is a crucial element in any hairdresser but particularly those that are working in a mobile capacity. It can be difficult to fit in however. My personal approach is to attend as many live hairdressing shows as possible, attend Salon International and Blackpool, keep on trend [and ,indeed, seek out future trends bypaying careful attention to the media stars/popular music artistes].

I am fortunate in having a strong and varied client base and retention is high plus having a teenage daughter does generate a lot of extra business from her friends.

Last Sunday, I did my first bridal fayre at a country hotel close to home and am surprised at the lack of wedding hair specialists. It was my first fayre, first live hairdressing event but it generated a lot of interest whilst bringing a good number of bookings.

A large number of brides are looking for sunkissed hi/lowlights and the most popular colour choices are 8/38, 10/0, 8/3.
